We were at the local track last year and it was awesome. Unfortunately, the owner sold out to someone who is going to "Improve" the property. Another bunch of mini-ranchettes, or condominiums, or something else just as bad. I seem to remember the sale price for the 63 acres was somewhere in the neighborhood of $300,000. Thirty of us at $1,000 apiece could have owned a dragstrip.

There’s an extra 0 in the price or one missing in what the 30 would need to pony up.

Good eye. Sorry, I've been up since yesterday and I'm low on caffeine. I forgot the 0 behind the 30 for a thousand apiece.

I think you missed a zero on the price as well.
$300,000 I think is way low at $4762.00 per acre for that many acres development property like that.
$50,000 per acre for development land isn’t unheard of around here.
It wouldn’t surprise me if it was 3,000,000.

Cob, I really don't remember but it was kicked around in one of Lloyd's threads by some of us prior to Lloydfest 2023. I do remember being surprised at the low price. A flat piece of property in
Eastern Kentucky would fetch a much better price than all the hillsides that surrounded the dragstrip. Another thing to consider is that low lying property might have a tendency to flood considering that there is a river running right behind where we were.

Around these parts they like to sell the land as smaller hunting acreages and try to entice out of state would be hunters to buy it, but if that is the size of the fish, they sure couldn't use that to enhance the price per acre.

It would be, but Last year's Lloydfest drove down property values drastically!

  15. 6 weeks away! Looking forward to seeing you guys, hope some new faces can make it this year! Gonna go in 2 weeks to order shirts, if anybody else wants to sponsor, let me know so your name gets on the shirts. I've got Hopkins auto detailing as a sponsor and he's bringing a bunch of cleaning supplies, my local Matco dealer is sponsoring us, not sure what he's throwing in the prize bin, but I'm sure it'll be interesting, plus he'll have the tool truck on sight for your shopping pleasure, Auto paint supply is helping out again, along with some of our own hambers! don't forget the valve cover race! Also the Hudson & Nash hand dipped ice cream truck will be making an appearance, when you hear that music coming down the road, get that money out and chase the truck like when we were kids! Lmao! Like I mentioned, I've got a huge grill on sight, probably gonna be free burgers and hot dogs. Got some good giveaway stuff, and surprise Lloydfest awards, unique to the bluegrass state  again I hope that all of you can be here! 20240725_204034.jpg

  17. Honestly I'm not sure. So much other stuff going on. I'll know more as it gets closer ;)

Those trucks look tight. “Remember, loose is fast, and on the edge is out of control”.
