I was very sorry to hear this when a friend called me. I had only met and talked with him a few times, the first was when I bought my Thunderbird from him, and I found him to always be a very friendly guy. There seem to be less and less of his type around anymore, he will be missed for way more than his contributions to the automotive world.

My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

Thank you for all your sympathy and condolences expressed. Our family has taken comfort from your kind words. Barry had so many friends and touched so many people in the street rod community - more than I ever thought. Our shop is working to complete his last personal project and only regret that we could not finish it in time. He just left us too soon.

I bought a few parts for my 5 window coupe from Barry. Nothing special, I could have bought them from anyone, but I wanted Barry's "touch" on my hot rod. Our loss is the Lord's gain. My deepest sympathy to the Lobeck family.
