How does one go about getting a item on E-bay shipped to his house when Seller offers no shipping just local pick up?...........Dave
I've never done it, but you might ask him for the contact info for any local pack and ship places...maybe they offer pickup, or maybe he'd at least get it delivered to them. Sounds expensive though. Or, you might try and find a well-rooted Hamber that would pick it up for you and get it to a pack/ship place.
See if you can find a member close willing to help. If it was close to me I'd get it for you. I think a lot of the sellers on ebay miss out because they won't ship.
Road trip.... How big is it? Some things can be popped onto Greyhound buses, but the seller has to be willing to do that.
Okay it's a front seat from a 1962 Galexie, it's in Charlotte N.C. and I need it shipped up here to Michigan.
Another option is Fastenal for large items. I just had an T85 od shipped from Wisconsin to Missouri for $115. Alot cheaper that the other guys. But as stated the seller has to be willing to help.
Is the seller willing to let it sit for a few weeks until you can have a shipper pick it up? Try Uship, the shippers bid on the job. https://www.uship.com/ Years ago I sold a front seat to a '55 Ford and the buyer used them to pick up and deliver the seat to him.
I have a doctors appointment in Ashland KY on Mar 24th. It is little over 1 /2 way there by mapquest. I am about 20 miles from Charlotte I just went on Friday, but I just saw this today.
I'm slowly changing my mind on this seat for my 55 Ford, by the time I buy the seat pay the shipping try and make it work then, to have it reupholster, and the back seat too. I'd have close to $800 in it. Can't afford it
Maybe to stay on budget you might want to get this: http://product.half.ebay.com/_W0QQprZ697213 there is also a DIY upholstery section on the main board you may want to check out.
There is a HAMB group that may be of help too: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/social-forums/hamb-relays.183/
I'm just having a hard time believing there isn't something like that a whole lot closer to Mi than North Carolina, particularly if it's gotta be reupholstered anyway.
In order to view the group, you need to click on "Social Forum Tools" on the right, just below the red Post New Thread ****on, then click "join social forum". Now you can finally read & post on that forum. Life made easier by the latest HAMB upgrade.
