I am looking to begin a career in the hot rodding industry. I live in Gainesville FL currently, but there isnt a great market here. If I want to be successful, Im going to have to move. I just want to make sure my move is worthwhile...

This is where I turn to all you H.A.M.B.ers. Where are the hotbeds for aspiring up and comers? Whos reppin the most prolific communities out there?

work on all cars specialize in "hotrods" to many others doing the same thing.

Basic everyday repairs will pay the bills and help pay to build the hotrods

More people and areas need a mechanic they can TRUST and who does GOOD work than a rod Shop

most of your hotrod greats started out as basic garages

  4. Depending on your age and experience level I would say find a job first and go there.
    1) Get yourself in the financial and "baggage" (house, family, relationship etc.) position to be able to move anywhere in the country quickly.
    2) Get a resume together with pics of your work and start sending it to every shop you can think of.
    3) Don't rule out shops that specialize in other parts of the industry that may not be your favorite ie. restorations, muscle, european, 4x4 etc.
    4) There are tons of shops all over FL, you may just have to do a little digging to find them. Look in Hemmings and magazines that cover other stuff.
