My build post is locked .is it maxed out ? Or did i piss someone off ?

  2. Give me a link to your build thread, it could be any number of things, too much drama, too far off base, too much face book? Maybe it needed more cow bell.

Anyway let us take a look at it.

1947 chevy AD build (aka mom's truck) hotrod

Your front suspension and engine choice did it in. I think it was left locked instead of deleted as it had some great metal work in it.

The rules clearly state what flies here.

Aftermarket IFS, and the LT-1 probably got it killed. Neither are considered traditional.

  5. Without reading the entire thread I would guess that you are correct sir.

    The H.A.M.B.: Rules & Guidelines

    Taken from the rules,

. As mentioned throughout these guidelines, the H.A.M.B. focuses on TRADITIONAL hot rods and customs. Posts pertaining to traditionally inspired, but not quite period perfect belong on the main forum found here. Please note that we don't focus on things such as modern fuel injected motors, big-inch wheels, frame clips, after market independent suspensions, etc... at all on the H.A.M.B.. As such, posts that stray away from the "traditional inspired" will be deleted.

On the other side of the coin, you really do some great metalwork. There really nothing wrong with the way you build cars, but some aspects just don't fit the early 60's and older time period.

No....seems you are incorrect. Traditional is pretty much defined.
    Goodbye.

Maybe one day a "Street Rod" section will be added to the HAMB ? if so I got some cars that would fit that one perfectly , until then I only have a couple cars that fit the Traditional index

You have done some nice metal work but the rule are easy to read and obviously you didn't read them, honestly I think the moderators cut you some slack, the thread could have been deleted, they just decided to lock it. HRP

Relax man. Don't let your ego get in the way of you enjoying this place. We've all had stuff deleted for one reason or another. You've got some mad skills. Sit back and chill just a bit.

Man, I don't see anything on there that should have gotten it locked. But, it's all interpretation on what's acceptable. I know the IFS may be a factor, but there are plenty of bagged IFS cars on this site, so I don't know. I have had a few removed myself. Thanks for sharing. It looks like you do nice work.

  16. Surprised the thread lasted past day one. Thats what happens when you bring checkers to a domino event though. It will be a fun truck when done, just does not fit in here.

BTW,I've been a member here for 12 years and have had a lot of threads lock or deleted, sometimes we think it's on topic when in reality it's not.

In the long run you make the decision whether you pack your bags and leave or you lick your wounds and stay.

As I said earlier, you have much to offer with your metal work,I would also like to see the truck come together, just omit the IFS installation. HRP

For some reason I hadn't looked at your thread before reading this one. Truck looks great, as does your metal work. Some of the builds you'll see here just don't show the off topic pieces that don't fit the definition of traditional. Don't go away, just remember the rules.

I dunno Guy, just think He over reacted, and got Hot, just a learning experience and growing pains.
Hey man stick around, you can be a real inspiration for those who cannot do metal work as you, myself included.
The easy thing is to blow a "head gasket" and check out, don't do that.
Get back on the wagon and forge ahead, lesson learned, no big deal.
We'll be supportin you on the sequel build thread. Move ahead, and do not look back....

I was beat down over something I thought was ok, I'm still here. I don't post any cars on here anymore ,tired of being told I did this or that wrong. Lifes to short to hold a grudge ,as Popeye would say ,"I yam what I Yam and thats all that I Yam "

I do not hold grudges but seriously i came to the HAMB to get away from flaming ,locked threads i have never post any inappropriate pics and until today curse words . I came here to show what im building to me this is traditional whats under the hood does not matter , whats under the bed does not matter

  25. I remember reading it thinking, great work, but you should be hiding that front end, then someone told you to, and then you showed better pics of the front end.
I knew it was doomed from that point.
If you hide the off topic stuff, sometimes the mods will let it fly, and in your case, the great metalwork shown by itself was possibly OK.

What is it about the rules you don't get? have you read them? Below is the last paragraph of them.

    6. Was your thread about something other than traditional hot rods and customs? Aside from a few "sidebar" topics that interest the staff here, we don't allow off topic posts. Your definition of "traditional" might differ from ours. That's fine. However, this is our forum and it's our definition that the forum is run off of.

It always bothers me when people take editorial decisions as a personal vendetta...
