Took the little Ford out for a drive saturday stopped at ACE to buy some hardware, got back in the car to pull out of the parking space, and the left front was locked up, and the brake pedal hard. I lossened the brake line to the left front, and she rolled again, but I could feel it stiffing up on the way home. Thinking master cylinder, or a wheel cylinder. I have the parts to rebuid both. Next weekend project. Ill let you know what I find.....

I had the same problem in a '53 I once had,it was the brake hose causing the problem, internal swelling was causing the fluid to not return after releasing the pedal. Not uncommon for rubber to go south in AZ!

I had this problem with the rear brakes in my daily driver '64 El Camino. Turned out to be same as Jeff, internal swelling in the rubber brake line. Changed the line, problem gone. Good luck!

Lanny, put this number in ebay search 170452855500 I got mine from them and the quality and fit was A+ perfect this price is for all 3 hoses which is about the price of one locally, word of caution when you replace the rear hose clean the road grime from around the tee fitting and give the threads a good soak of PB Blaster the br*** tee is easily stripped. Also be sure you use a flare nut wrench on those fittings.

JeffB2 I was looking at those brake hoses for my Ranchero from them. I was reading that there may be other costs to get them here from Argentina. Did you have any other costs to get them here? Thanks.

OOPS! Click on this ebay # 360248194789 this is correct for 52-53 Mainline and Customline,I checked my parts manual 54-56 use the same hoses and 52-53 hoses are the same in the rear but 52-53 fronts are 13" and 54-56 are 14 3/4" long.

An 1 3/4" longer probably would work any way, the fittings are probably the same the extra length was due to the new ball joint suspension in '54.
