so.... I just installed a Lokar shifter (with the push button knob) in my coupe and now that its installed, I don't like the bend. I am wondering if anyone has experience re-bending the existing Lokar shift arm with any luck?
I am not scared, but thought I'd check with the HAMB in case someone has experience and said.... NOOOOO don't do it.

    Anyway.... let me know thoughts.

  2. I haven't re bent mine but I did shorten it at both ends as the double bend was way too long for my T. I took 3 inches off the bottom and 2 3/4 off the top. JW

Swap for a shorter one if possible. I had friends with long and short versions, they wanted the opposite so they just unbolted what they had and swapped them over.

I think as long as you don't go nuts with the bend you will be ok. It is just a hollow tube that the middle cable rides in, so if it doesn't have to go around any severe turns it should still be able to do what it is supposed to do.

    Maybe call Lokar ?

Worried over mine for over a year(the hole in the center) This week I got a choke cable and shoved it in the hole and fired up the hot wrench. Bend went off without a hitch and the boot covered up the bluing. Button works better than it did before.
