Changing the shifter is on my to do list -just way down on the list.
I do have the adapter for the Lokar so you can run a different knob if anyones interested in buying it. Thats right the********* company couldnt figure out how to fabricate the shifter to allow you to run a different shift knob! f'n idiots! The Gennie its not a prob. I recall that their tech support*****ed when I contacted them too. oh and that*****on rattling!

Just curious? you and Von Rigg Finks signatures say you are looking to buy Lokar shifters. are you guys junk dealers or somethin?

I've used 3 Lokar 32" double bends ---lotsa miles with NO problems once set up and adjusted. AOD in a 57 Ranchero, TH350 in a 55 Ford Panel and a TH350 in a 51 Chevy Pickup. Yep, the directions REALLY***** and you gotta lube them.

Whatever you want to call it. I put that on because of posts like this and so many dissing their Lokars. I happen to believe from experience that there's nothing wrong with the Lokars. I had 22,000 mi on the first one and just over 50,000 mi on the second one. If you don't like yours and want to get rid of it pm me a price

    HEy Von Rigg,
I'd like to sit here on the computer and have a******** contest with you but I gotta get back to the***** movie I'm shooting. besides, my keyboard is bigger than yours and I have an extra finger on one hand that I recently had the webbing removed from.

By the way... how did you get 5,400 posts in a year and a half?

It was mentioned earlier. but what about your E brake. I wouldn't own a car with out an fully functioning E brake. Ask me why sometime.

Because he has usefull stuff to post.

I would have preferred to have a gennie shifter instead of the lokar, but due to lack of space between the custom floor and the trans there was no room for a tail mount or top mount shifter. Neither the original lokar nor gennie would fit. My only option at the time was the lokar floor mount which worked out very well.

Lets be fair, they have three or four moving parts. How you supposed to figure it out without at least a video.(insert smiling icon)

I'd say you scored a home run with that comment

  19. This reminds me of something funny.

Quite a few years ago, Ford was being accused of having transmissions that slipped out of Park, and cars that rolled away, causing accidents, injuries, and various damaged property claims.

Ford denied a problem, and blamed it on people not knowing how to set a simple parking brake or not correctly shifting into Park. Dumb-driver error, not a design problem.

There were several court cases about it. This went on and on for a long time.

Then one local reporter's newscast at one courthouse made the national news.
As he was standing on the sidewalk outside the courthouse reporting on another court case, the TV station's car in the background started rolling away. He dropped his mike and ran after it.

You guessed it. It was a Ford.

After that news clip made the rounds on the national news, you didn't hear about Ford fighting against it anymore.

I wonder if someone has a clip of that on YouTube or somewhere....

Because reporters can't have "dumb driver errors"
