So, I have a spare tire around the garage. I was looking for things to do before work, and tried something just for the hell of it. I thought I would see how white spray paint would look on a tire as far as making a "fake" white wall tire. ...not gonna lie...it actually looked pretty bad ass/didnt look cheesey. Now for the question...anyone else ever used white spray paint/attempted it? I know its just about as cheap as you could get as far as trying to "make" a white wall. Just curious if anyone else ever had the same idea/if it worked for them..?
I recall a Kar Kustom mag covering a how-to the same way a few years back. I thought it looks pretty good. Sorry. Damn phone won't let me fix that "looks".
NO nobody has ever painted a tire white. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=382473&highlight=paint+white+walls http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125910&highlight=paint+white+walls http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24861&highlight=paint+white+walls http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24861&highlight=paint+white+walls
i'm not reading all the posts in all those threads but didnt they actually make a white wall tyre paint, to paint white walls on tyres? last i heard you did it once, it kinda greyed/yellowed, then you did it again when that happened and it went ok. not speaking from experience ofcourse cause i've only used those shitty atlas portawalls so far and i cannot recommend them.
You already answered your question before you started . It will look OK at 20 feet but that's it . Just do it the right way and save yourself all the embarrassment at the car show ! Try grinding to the whitewall and do it that way , but still won't look just right . Retro Jim
