Well I know it been a month since all the excitement has died down and things are back to boring in Austin, but I did want to take a minute to thank all the Kontinentals(esp, Brian, Will, Norm and Reggie), The Fender Skirts for all their help and support, Mark and The Do-Nut Gang for organizing and leading the Crawl( and all the guys who opened up their garages) The Ya-hoos for a kick ass job on the mini bike races, Reggie again for the killer Thurs BBQ and Billy and the T-Bolts for the Thirsty Thursday party, A.S.S. for keeping some of the heat off of S.Congress(helluva party on Saturday) and especially all the folks who drove, drug, pushed and pulled thier bitchen rides into Austin for the weekend. I know I am forgetting folks but know that we really appreciate all the help that goes in to making this one of the best shows in the country. Who cares if it rains like a cow pissin' on a flat rock.
LET'S DO IT AGAIN !!!!!!! LSRU 2010 IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 8-11, 2010!!!! So make your plans.

Also for those of you that didn't make it or left before the picks were made and presented on Saturday afternoon, below are all the winners. Thanks to John Mearns and A.S.S./Gambino's Customs for the super cool hand made trophies. The way we do the picks is we give a handfull of car afficianadoes a pick and tell them go find the car they would like to take home the most and that's who get's the pick.........pretty simple and no politics involved. So check out the recipents of the 2009 LSRU Picks. ( thanks to all the photographers that took these shots that I found on the HAMB, the coverage was awesome)

One other car that was in town for the weekend that if you were lucky enough to be in the right place, you caught a glimse of this freakin incredible piece of machinery. The restoration is unmatched. It was out at Reggies on Thurs at the BBQ and made it back out again on Sunday for the cruise to Ski Shore. It was the Walker-Morrison Roadster restored and owned and driven by one true gentleman, craftsman and just a great all around guy, Jack Steirniman

Thanks Steve and the Kontinentals for another great time, you guys are awesome. I missed #1, will never miss another. My favorite time was Friday, after you guys let registered cars park inside, you turned a miserable wet day into a really cool mini car show.
Swap meet was kick ass, spent way too much money there, lots of great deals. I put my T coupe in the car corral. Norm told me to make a really good sign so I spent $27 @ a sign shop and I sold the car!!!
Thanks from the Thunderbolts to everyone that came out to Thirsty Thurdsay.
Really great to see old friends meet new ones.
Only 11 more months 'til we can do it all again!!

  19. This was our first Round Up and we enjoyed it. You guys did a heck of a job! We plan on coming back again. Great cars and a great town. Can't get much better than that.
    Later,
    Dick

Thanks to Steve and the Kontinentals for letting the Yay-Hoos help with the minibike races! Long overdue, but seems like this would be a good time to also recap on who took home minibike trophies:

Here's our first-place winner (left) and the winner of the Hard Luck trophy (right)... the latter was fast on Friday but couldn't get his bike to cooperate for the finals on Sat.

The winner of the Style trophy... just smooth, steady, and consistent out there!

Finally, Wesley took home the Cool Bike trophy!

    Thanks again, everyone!

Awards goin to great folks with amazing rides, what a concept?

Jack's 32 has been around SA for quite some time. That has always been one of my favorite cars since I first saw it in Boerne many years ago.

My dad is perhaps the pickiest car guy ever and is convicned that Gregg's car is the best built custom that he has ever seen, I tend to agree.

Tom is just a hell of a nice guy and that car is amazing, not to mention the history.

The rest of the rides chosen were just as great.

Thanks again for a great time!

Had a great time. Met a bunch of new people and although the weather this year sucked I think it forced it the most positive direction this show could have taken by moving a good chunk of it into the arena. Great job guys and we'll see you at DOTD.

As always, we had a great time in Austin. Thanks to everyone for welcoming us with open arms - great hospitality! Had a chance to meet and visit with so many great people and see some amazing cars... really just had a blast down there. There is no doubt, in my mind, that we'll be back next year.

Some of those photos look familiar. :)
Here's a short video of the Walker-Morrison roadster. To me, one of the best things is seeing these cars running and in action....

We had a GREAT time!! Thanks Steve.

  28. yeah - that was no exaggeration - heres what it looked like out there in the early AM...

but a BIG thanks to everyone for hanging with us as we came up with "plan B" on the spot - it all worked out great, and to those who braved it - they got a pretty awesome car show and a very intimate show by Jimmie Vaughan

it was really wet on Friday but still fun, dont believe I have ever been that soaked before.. I was doing ok till I decided to go to the car and get my rain coat. I left the cover and it came down like a water fall..

next yr it will be dry as a bone.. just my prediction..
I was so busy taking pix that I forgot to take one of my ride.. I usually take one for keep sake, that is what I get for not putting it in the show like I did
    last yr..

  30. You know what Steve, as long as, you guy's put on the Round-up, I will be there, every year.
It has become one of my favorite shows, if not "THE" favorite show in the country.
    See you in 2010.
Great people, great cars, great food, no bullshit, what else do you need.
