Is Marcy doing the room block this year ? I just called the Homestead on 1 st street and the rate was 417 a night. Is anything cheaper around 1st and Riverside area? Thanks.

They sure do, it was in the 150 range 2 years ago.
After looking the best I could find was Best Western on 35 and Oltorf for 155 bucks a night. They said only 3 rooms left.

About a month ago I booked a Motel 6 up north close to the fairgrounds for $59. I told them not to leave the lights on for me. We had stayed there last year also.I don't mind driving a couple of miles to save that kind of money. To each his own.

I ended up at the Super 8 about 5 miles from the Expo center. I'll have to drive back and forth to S. Congress but from what I've been hearing, it might be a good idea to stay away from there Saturday night anyway!

Look into renting a house for the weekend they're a lot better priced better amenities, and right downtown.

Update Homestead/ Extended stay on 1st st. lowered there rates from 417 to 156 a night. Not sure if they have any left though.
