'Niddly Diddly' things around here around here require the application of a phillips screwdriver, something in your narrative leads me to think a phillips won't get the job done. I hope it isn't something that requires harsher language (I'd offer some of mine but I used them all up yesterday when raising from the floor I collided with the bottom of a door).

Rockers are making a lot of noise and won't hold adjustment. Worst case, the cam may be wiped. Best case wrong rockers were installed when the enjine was built. (or maybe something else, still thinking and trying to figure it out) Oh, and I left my gas cap somewhere in Alabama. Still a fun trip but a little worried about the valve train issue. It's always something. May need to borrow some of your harsh words, we'll see.

Damn, I hate to hear valvetrain problems. They're the worst, you have to tear so much stuff apart to fix and when done all you've accomplished is to get it back to where it should have been in the first place.
Ah well, the hardest thing is getting started, once you get going you wonder what he fuss was all about, just one of them niddly diddly things I guess.

Have you pulled a rocker arm off yet. I too was chasing similar problems in my SBC, kept making adjustments, kept getting loose, finally pulled a rocker to find the push rod ends were smashing. I had bought an "inexpensive" set from Competition Cams and they were the type with the ball welded on the end. Long story short, JUNK. I got a decent set and replaced them, no more problems.

I've tried to clean up my act so the only words I can offer is doo doo, kaka and poo poo.

You might try Sh!t,it has a multitude of uses and oddly enough it can be used as a noun or a verb. HRP

Great pics, thanks for posting. From yours and others threads posting pics, looks to have been a not to miss show this year. Has always been my favorite bar none, but could not make it this year.

Somebody on another thread was asking who owns this Model A. Chase Brown, from Texas was on the windshield tag. I was really impressed by this car...classic and very well done, so I shot a bunch of pictures.

...and thus ends today's lesson in how to build a Model A the right way!
