Customs Lone star roundup

I looked into getting a room at the San Jose when I attended last year. I live in Austin, but I'm about 15 minutes from the Continental, so I wanted something close to the action. Unfortunately, there are so many visiting bands and other people that come from out of town to help Steve with the show, that they do get first dibs. As of Saturday night at last year's event, I was told that I wouldn't be able to get a room for this year. I can understand it, though. If I were putting on a big event, I'd promise the hired talent that they'd get a room close by as well. No hard feelings at all. I came to Roundup #1 and #2 from KC. Both times, I ended up staying with friends that lived about 10 minutes away from the festivities. I figure it like this...I'd driven 700 miles to get to Austin. A few minutes commute on the day of the show was no biggie. Even if you have to stay a half hour away and drive in every night, it's still worth it. Just my couple of pennies. My club has toyed with the idea of renting an RV for the show and just parking it with the square cars at the show grounds this year.

Yep, I feel your pain. This is exactly the same thing that happen to me and many others too.
