I just want to say "Thanks" to all the Kontinental's and to Ryan, and the Hamb, also Modernbeat, Sandman and Crease. This morning, (after awakeing from 17 hours of sleep) I was greeted by Ryans photos, and in there, was a pic. of my car (28 lakester). That was the biggest award I could have received. I know, I am breaking some rules here because, I have not done an Itro. yet. I will after more coffee. I built this car in 45 days of none stop thrashing, 8am till..... the wife calls... everyday. Thanks again, for a great time Kontinentals.

  2. The Round Up is the best show in the country and the Kontinentals are the best group of folks you will ever meet! The whole experience is what makes this event stand out above all others. Thank you guys for a great weekend!

Ryan once again I didn't get to meet ya and we even were staying at the same hotel. Maybe next time. Keep those artsy pictures coming and thank you for giving us the HAMB.

Von Franco as always nice to chat with ya. Your pictures of the chair are coming.

Can't remember everybody I met this weekend but it was great to meet some new HAMBers.

  3. Man, I'm really starting to get the idea that this was a really good show, And I have suffered a great loss. [IMG].

I'm glad to hear it was such a great sucess. Thank goodness for the HAMB too, now those of us that didn't go get a close up view of the cars.

  4. Missed the first show, made it to the second show, (swore I wouldn't miss any after that!) but I did missed the third show...! [IMG]

Thankfully (because of the video) I had promoted it heavily to my friends up in Wisconsin..., and I'm glad some of the Northerner's made it (safely)!!! [IMG]

Look foreward to hearing all about it and seeing more photo's!!! [IMG]

Great to meet you too man. I got to meet lots of folks I had never before... What a relief to see that for the most part we are all normal folks and not internet freaks of some kind...

I still managed to miss a bunch of folks I wanted to talk too. If there is a large crowd, you can normally find me hiding behind a poll somewhere (or in one case, behind Brewsir). All in time I guess...

Did Reggie recently buy that car from a guy in SC. It looks just like a local car that was sold to a guy in Tex. Flew in and drove it home. It was a 32 5W with a flattie in brown primer. If it is the same car it rocks. Hated to see the local guy sell it. It was the coolest car in SC.

ha! word travels fast- I wasn't gonna bring that up....next time I'll lie. that was the only fly in the ointment in an otherwise swell weekend.

wish you'd been able to make it, Jeff, but that's the best reason for staying in the shop. beautiful work.

I met up with so many great folks and there's still so many more to meet next year...

    in '05 I'm riding a bike to Austin for E-Z parking. I'll make sure it's pre-'63, naturally.

Ryan, Marcie, Kim'n'Miker Z., Warpigg, Von Franco, Penny and Keith Weesner, Mark Morton, John Bade, Coco Shinimoya, Drew Hardin, Crease, Brewsir, Honest, Buzzard, Krupanut, Beatnikontinental, Moderntruck, 40Stude, Terry Barnard, The Fatluckys, Dan Barnett, Norm Grabowski, VonEyeball, The Fly-Rite Crew, the 666 nice-hinder gals, people who tolerated Vito's insane naughtiness, all the folks I've forgot to mention and the Kontinentals' hospitality make this the best event....well, ever.

    thanks!

    Ryan, thought you'd be taller...

Gotta speak up for the "Moe" character. That's Morgan Rowe in Johnson City, just outside of Austin. He's a new convert to American Hot Rods and really did throw that straight six powered modified together in just a few weeks. I think he started working on it the day after Valentine's day. No hassling him. He's a builder type person that isn't afraid to try anything.

Sooooo many people at the show! I was amazed at the number of out-of-towners and the huge number of HAMBers. I had to cut out Saturday evening, but still had a ball.

Picasso, I had no idea that happened at the park on Sat. My apologies....I wish you would have gotten to me or beatnik and we would have handled the sitch. Your car is one of my faves. We are hoping to get you very involved in next year's show if you know what I mean. We will dicuss soon. Thanks for making the trip from Marathon. That's almost as far as those Cali guys. Any one know how to match up the winner's names w/ pics of their cars so everyone knows which cars took home the awards. Thanks again everybody and Dan, sorry again about the fly.

  18. Holy crap! I KNEW I shoulda gone! The cars look awesome. At the HAMB drags last summer, Reggie extended an invite to this event and I said I'd try...couldn't get it together tho. Looks like a "must go" for next year.
BTW, Boones....Reggie had his brown primer deuce coupe at the drags last summer. He's had it for awhile.

In my opinion, the only person that likes to look at amateur art photography is the guy that took them. That said, here are some more...

Woah! That very last picture of the truck just made me say "Woah" out loud. I would have not taken a picture of the truck like that. Super cool photo!

It was great meeting you Ryan. And your club secrets are safe with THEM! [IMG] [IMG]

Absolutely perfect evening capped off by Kontinental Reggie asking me to drive his flathead powered 32-5w to the show the next morning...

Ryan, you driving my car made my day more than you can imagine. It was perfect watching you and the missus drive off in it. You have NO IDEA how good that felt. After all, the leader of the HAMB can't drive to our meet in a Rental. It won't happen as long as I'm around.

And man, I'm still floored that you picked my car! I really, really didn't expect it. I was standing up talking to the famous Jim "Jake" Jacobs and clapping when my name was called. I heard it, but it didn't register until he said "I think they are calling you!" What a day! Right up there with my wedding and the birth of my sons. Thank you!

El Jeffe, all of this happened on the anniversary of me being tapped as a Kontinental. Thank you man....for bringing me out of the hotrod closet. Until then, I had only participated in only 1 car show....and that was the first roundup.

Kontinental brothers, you rock!! I can only think of one guy that didn't enjoy himself (and he almost caught a punch). But that's ok....399 out of 400 happy hot rodders is a hell-uv-a batting average.

Hamber's, it was great to meet so many of you. Don't be offended if I remember your face and your car but not your name.....gettin kinda old.
