Man, I haven't been to Austin for the LSR for nearly 15 years, but THIS year is my year! And, since I started working for Hemmings, the LSR is one of the events I've been trying to get "us" to since my first day on the job. And now, I'm bringing Hemmings and Stewart-Warner with me! Lemme explain...

I created this travel story series for Hemmings called "One Perfect Day:" the idea is that we can go to any place, show, event, etc. and create this video that shows you where to go and what to do if you want to make the same trip. Cars, food, bars, people, shops to visit...you get the idea. And we're working with Stewart-Warner to produce a "One Perfect Day" at the LSR for them, which you'll then see in Hemmings Motor News magazine, on hemmings.com, social media handles and on YouTube.

And here's the ask: I'm looking for someone who's gonna be in town on Friday and Saturday for the LSR with a tub or phaeton who'd be interested in running around town and the show with us. You'd have to tolerate me riding shotgun and a dude with a camera in the backseat as we shoot some video for this project. The bad news is that, well, I've got terrible jokes and I can never remember how to tell them right the first 7 times. The good news is, you won't pay for a thing while you're with us. As long as you don't mind being on-camera with yours truly.

Interested in ruining a perfectly good trip to Austin with me? Lemme know and I'll fill you in on the details!

  2. That sounds like it could be a fun experience. Makes me wish I had a tub and was going to the LSR.

Dan @Stoner , Chris Cooper has a cool Model A Phaeton that may work, if he's up for it .. @COOP666

@Stu We most likely WILL be doing this at other shows, too – more to come on that list as we figure it out...

@Dan Hay you bringin' that thing to the LSR? Let a kid know!

Turns out, Coop will be at the show all weekend and he won't let me drive his tub. Prolly a good idea on his part. And let's open this thing up: we could do a roadster, RPU, convertible full-body car...anything that's either missing a top or has one that can come down...AND could spend that Friday scooting around town with us for a few hours. Have mercy...

I imagine @Ryan @El Jefe @BLAKE or others in the Austin area could help you line something up, as well.

Pat Barnhart has that fantastic 46’ ford rag top. Might see if he’ll be around?
