I also agree with those guys on the wheel base. Bringing it in would make it look less like a rat rod.

To tell you the truth, this is my first build. I never built a chassis, let alone a hot rod. Everything is new to me. By you guys telling me that it is too long, Im definately going to take your advise and shorten it. It shouldnt take too long since everything is ony tack welded anyways. I wasnt too sure how much space I should give the radiator and grille. Thats why it has the little gap. I dont want it to look like a wacky rat rod. I wanted a low, but not too low hot rod. What woud you recommend on the frontend setup? Thanks .

Congrats brother, on the build. It's looks like you are making a lot of progress. I am with Evel, the wheel base looks a bit "broken". The rear wheels look like they are not centered in the wheel well. Also the front can be taken in a bit. I would give you more of a Hot Rod look rather then the mini trucker look. I would even hike that body up a couple inches but it is you ride so do it how ever you want. Intake setup look awesome and you and your brother should be proud of each other. I wish me and my brother could build something. We just live to far away from each other. Keep us updated!

Those are new unmollested kingpins, Im not sure why the caster is like that. What do you think is the problem? Thanks

My car is at my dads house since he has a large garage. He lives on the westside over by santa fe and willow. Unfortunately I live in a condo with no garage. Thanks

I forgot to mention. The body was just placed on top of the chassis, nothing is set. We got to anxious to see what it would look like. Thanks, I will keep everyone posted.

  9. Awesome job guys!

Maybe add a 4" Z on the front frame rails in the toeboard/firewall area. Then you could get by without that tall front perch.

Also, throw a angle finder on your front kingpins, cant tell much from the pic but it looks like its angled way back. The experts here could quote a better angle than I...around 5-7 degrees??? That would let you run your front hairpins either level to the ground or at a more pleasing angle to the body lines.

    Again, awesome job!

  10. from the pic it almost looks like the wish bones have been cut and re angled to achieve the frame mounting angle.

like weaver said, put an angle finder on the the top of the king pin and look for 5-7 degrees.

if in fact the wishbones have been cut....make sure they are welded by a very competent welder.

if your bones havent been cut and they're just mounted that way, then you hav e WAY too much caster and it will be very difficult to turn and cause all kind of havoc.
