  3. Thanks for the memories Ryan. I went to a Super Stock Nationals at Centre Moriches track back in that time frame so I might have been at that track around the 4 minute mark.

That's some great footage! Love the '55's at the beginning.

Went to NY National many times. Never forget opening day...we were flat towing out of Armonk ,N.Y. in Westchester County . Went along to be "crew chief' with the legendary "Henry the Eighth" '50 Ford N/Stocker ,then owned bya guy named Winkler ,who bought it from Louie DiRubba.(Built by Bobby Lagana---- lots of "neat " cheater tricks, like illegal canadian police flathead). Got as far as Sunrise Highway, when the tow bar broke sending the coupe into the guard rail. I announced At Dover On Sundays...but got to go on the other nights they ran. And Yes, they did run 4 cars at a time, during time trials only, and only the slower cars. Darrel the announcer called it the "Big Track in New York"

I live 5 minutes from where NY National Drags used to be now. They shut it down due to the noise Police! Its now a senior citizen double wide park. My brother and I used to race there when we were a lot younger. We both had 60's Vette roadsters and a couple of
Dodge Chargers. One was a Hemi the other a 440. They were cheap back then. We lived with our parents and worked at local jobs like the super market and movies. Our Pop was the best mechanic that ever lived. He taught us everything.

Used to go to the drive-ins a lot too with our buds, just like on the west coast listening to the Beach Boys. The ocean was 15 minutes away with great surf. Still is.

    Wow, that was paradise!

Try living like that today! Every thing cost a fortune and you need two jobs.

    What happened to America?

    That is a great video.
My father worked at national speedway when he was a kid, he is going to love this video. I have seen a pic at Uncle Antony's of national speedway with 4 race lanes and traffic lights to start.
I grew up at westhampton dragway and raced there before it closed.

I have some of Jim Amos' old videos on VHS from 12-13 years ago. As you can see and hear, he does a great job of mixing the sound into the old flicks! He also has his own '63 A/FX Comet that he races. Don't know whose it was but I believe it's the real deal.

You just can't go wrong with Bee On Videos. If you dig the way it was when you could actually see the cars as they went down the track, and working a 4-speed was way cool, Bee On is the stuff for you! I love 'em!
