what is up HAMB? I have been lurking for a few years. I really dig the site....lots of cool rides and talented people here. I finally picked up a pair of HAMB friendly cars for hot rod projects. I am embarassed to say ..but I have to be honest... I am not really sure what they are.....could anybody out there in HAMB land....ID them for me? http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=18907942&uid=1095511 I think one is a 28 or 29 essex.... Im not sure about the year\model of the coupe...but for 500.00 for the pair..i thought they were badass.....so i said what the hell -and bought em up. thanks for looking. opinions welcome. Darrin
thanks for the welcome and the info Tim. I appreciate it. i think the one that is just the cab on the ground is an essex..28 or 29 i think..it has suicide doors on it. pretty cool IMO. later, D
thanks for the welcome flh4speed and more importantly thank you for your service to our country. your bio was funny as hell. my pop has ridden harley's forever also.....so i was around scooter trash alot growing up.....some of em were mean as hell but all were loyal. how it should be. i haven't had the money to get a bike just yet...maybe one day. very cool truck your working on also man. D
I'm actually looking for a Model A or similar piece of metal to build into a 50's style rod...you don't wanna sell one of those do ya?
no sorry. those will be future builds. but i will keep my eyes open for you and if i run across something i will give you a shout. thx. Darrin
I would appreciate it Darrin, and if you need parts feel free to send me a PM with what you are looking for...
Hey Darrin, Welcome from outside of Duncan. No one wants to actually live in Stephens county, but ya gotta be somewhere. Nice score on that coupe. Steve.
Man you okies are comming on strong lately. Several have recently joined! Good luck to you on your builds. HAMB guys will help in any way they can. You'll see. Have folks in Bennington(wide place in road)
thanks lefty. i am a long time guitar player (30 yrs)...you cool music interests. have you ever been to the oklahoma international bluegrass festival? man that is a great time and some good music buddy.
thanks bobby. you have a lot of cool projects and obviously a lot of talent and skill. that is why the HAMB is so awesome. you get to meet some great people and learn a bunch as well. good luck to you.
Wow you got a killer deal on those two, the model A coupe is worth at least twice if not triple what you paid for the pair and the essex is worth a few hundred all on it's own.
no kidding Jeremy? that is cool. are there any hints as to what year it might be? (body lines etc) we were thinking 29 or 30 but we aren't sure. it appears to have a stock frame and someone split the bones on it at some point. "happy fabricating" to you up there in NY man....i appreciate the feedback.
thanks for the welcome kreep. appreciate it man. looks like some people are chopping and channeling them (essex). has a cool look to em when they are low i think. gotta love them hot rods!
