Bought this one back in 1977 for $500. Purchased from the original owner from the west side of Chicago. It had about 30k miles on it. Saved it while buying and selling hundreds of other Corvairs. This past June it suffered a very short but very expensive engine fire. Hagerty Insurance took care of the loss in fine fashion. Car has been repaired and repainted and should see the road again next Spring. Now showing 60k miles and ready for more!
My Grandmother Jessie bought the wagon new and it's been in the family since 1954 so it's been in the family for 68 years.
Got my 30 Ford Coupe for Christmas, 1964, just going through the 4th engine(B) now. Had my 46 Ford Coupe for only 32 years.
Had the truck for 30 years and built the FED 9yrs ago and if everything goes well I will still be piloting them both 15 years from now when I'm 90........................
My dad bought this new, turned it over to me when I was 16, signed titled over when I was 18, so about 41 years in my name. Rolled it out of the shop in the spring to work on my kids car, pandemic hits. Work gets crazy. Now I need to hustle to get her car on the road, get the ‘57 back in the shop and put the parts on I bought the past month for it. Lol. Time and money. Used to not have money, now no time!!
