    G'day,

Long time reader, first time poster, put some cash down last year on a 53 Belair out of Cali, after much fluffing about, waiting by the door and persistently hitting the refresh button while tracking the ship it finally arrived start of Feb this year.

Slowly working through minor issues, dodgey work from previous owner and adding little bits and pieces along the way, I got it on the road just as this pandemic BS hit, just itching to get out once all this passes.

    Cheers.

HI Marc & welcome. Nice looking Bel Aire. Does it still have the 235 six in it? Those are nice engines for daily drivers and even stand out at car shows as many find it refreshing to not see an old car changed to a V8. If you need parts for the car 2 sources I used a lot on my 46 Chevy coupe were www.chevsofthe40s.com OR www.thefillingstation.com They both have many items to fit your 53.
My avitar pic on this reply shows the tricked out 1957 Chevy 235 six engine. Jimmie

Yeah mate, still got the six banger in there, 235 with 3 on the tree, and yes it is quite nice to get around with, but i've found a very minor oil leak after a decent sized drive thru the mountains, and since then the carby looks like it has been weeping fuel, so got a carb rebuild kit here to take care of that.
