Really thinking about building the next Roadster G***er style. The Radir wheels people have one that is awesome. I have seen a few but not many compared to coupes and sedans. SO lets see what we can come up with here in the HAMB Even a Rendering or Something Photoshopped would be helpfull at this stage. Thanks Rudy
No help here, but I do love that Radir wheels g***er! I can't wait to see what you come up with. -Dave
wheres chuck at......??? you might look for pics of dave rudy's roadster....as well as the moorman and koopsomething roadster.....both street roadsters were pretty big in the day ....brandon
These aren't "g***er" style...they're Street Roadster style. Hugh Tucker's is a Chevy, but looks similar to a Ford. Tucker's son registered the other day and should be able to be helpful. Dave Rudy's is the 222 car. Also a couple of Ts for reference. (Pics from the G***er Wars book, Street Roadster section.) Mutt
Wow! I was just about to post about the '32 3W pictured above! It was displayed at all the DC car shows in the early 1960's, an immaculately finished resto rod except for that tall spring.
The Radir wheels car is the Dorman & Koopman '32 roadster It was originally from Spring Lake, MI and resided in Grand Rapids for a long time. Featured in Car Craft around '66/'67. It ran as a street roadster not a g***er. G***ers were coupes and sedans...roadsters were roadsters. The technology and look was pretty much the some though. Not being picky, just stating the way it was. You'd have to change yer name to G***tar.... Charlie Charlie
There was a guy on here building a nose bleed 32 roadster - I think he was a Brit, I haven't seen an update in a long time though. I think the fenders make a huge difference - I am normally a hi boy fan but fenders look great on these cars!
Harry Luzader's '32 5 window is one of my favorites, a beautiful machine. I can't seem to locate a picture of it, though.
even though ya were looking for roadsters figured they could be photo chopped for ideas, and a few were just too freakin cool not to put out there
That would be me. The car is still in progress. I am just waiting for the 351 cu inch flathead to be built. Should be worth it though.
just a friendly reminder... a g***er might be a little difficult to navigate around the dirt track... I love you even more for thinking in this direction for the new project!
Thanks guys for some great pics, and thank for clearing up the confusion about a roadster with a nose bleed stance not actually being a g***er but still being a roadster, Guess I get to keep the name The Radir wheel car is certianly the one with all the bells and whistles though. Yeah Mike it might be hard to take the corners on the dirt Thanks again guys
Charlie, thanks for that info about the Dorman and Koopman roadster. I'm calling my dad right now, he'll be real interested to hear all that. -Dave
If your talking g***er and '32 Ford in the same sentence you need to look at Harry Luzader's '32 5w. It was THE example of the breed. I think maybe Beatnicks third picture MAY be it, not sure. I think a roadster built the same way way would be *****in. Frank
