Hiya Folks did we all have a good Christmas and Happy New Year? Well i was certainly busy Taildraggin had a whip on me (now now ) getting me stripping my (easy) engine down!!! for truck!!!!!! So i have now stripped the Chassis i mean no bed!!! not even the cab!
I thought he was having a laugh when he said 'it's ok we can take the cab off it's not that heavy' I nearly split my sides laughing when i tried to lift it. But i didn't let it beat me, the superwoman that i am, managed to lift (ok ok) struggle to get the cab off the chassis out of the garage and onto wooden pallet. That was after we had tried rolling out the chassis and finding out that we couldn't just lift the cab off and put on pallet (something to do with not enough room to swing cab round ) So here's the cab all alone next to the bed!
Hey that's not all. Next i had to strip down engine which i done with Taildraggin making sure i got lots of pictures and bolts in different bags and all that, cause i'm good at taking apart but get a bit stuck putting back cause i've forgotten how it went. So here's a pick of engine before i took it off chassis.
So here's pic of Engine competely naked i mean stripped. Found out that my oil filter wasn't plumbed in so i had a oil filter that had in fact never filtered any oil. Huge steps on bores had a bit of trouble getting them out but brute force kinda done the trick oh and a helping hand with a bit of wood!! Don't think it's been overauled still standard as of 1951. So i now have to get it rebored, crank reground, new pistons, bearings and if i'm a good girl Taildraggin may let me have a hopped up cam!!! and if i'm very very good i can have tri carbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grin God knows what i've got to do to get a Fenton dual exhaust manifold. So my engine has also been degreased ready to be sent for reboring. Just gotta come up with colour scheme for Engine as i DON'T want RED!!!! thinking maybe pink or purple!!!
Ok last one honestly for now This is pic of how she is now. Taildraggin thinks, i mean, gotta get out there this weekend and finish preparing chasis and gotta paint at least the front end of it with this posh chassis stuff it's called POR 15 anyone heard of it? Supposed to be really good at protecting and stuff. Anyway i'll let you know if it works. Gotta work really hard cause i told Taildraggin i would have it back on the road before the MOT runs out which is MAY. Should we take bets on this Catch up with you soon Daisy
Should we take bets, i think as soon as the old man gets his registration for the roadster you won't see him for dust! (you need to hide some important stuff from his car so he can't finish it) Looking good though...keep on chipping away at it. Was at John's yesterday his is almost there now, it may help or not but in his search for a harmonic balancer he's turned up a sheet load of those motors, some low mileage & may save you £££££'s on the rebuild......just a thought!

keep up the good work on your truck. i'm sure it's gonna turn out really well. as for POR-15 i've used it before it works great.
Sorry autocol only got a brother and i don't think he would take to kindly to dressing as a woman!!! I've always wanted to go to Australia!! Roothawq, I did a bit of work to get her road legal, but engine started to use more oil than petrol so decided to sort it out and do a rough rebuild at same time. She's never going to be a show winner. But then that's not what trucks are for!!! Used the POR 15 today went on ok except got it on my Knees????? don't ask my how and splashes on my face and it's real hard to get off ended up using nail polish remover!!! which does little bits!! So you could soon be seeing pics of it going back together!! Daisyduke
Looking Good! As long as you keep chipping away at it, May should be no problem. Unless, of course, you get caught up in the "maybe I'll just do this too while it's apart" syndrome we're all victim to! Good Luck!
