Wells guys , everyone on here says good Karma comes back around looks like my brother and I pooled it all up and it came back to us today. We have been doing a lot of pro bono work for people over the years and here we are....check out what we brought home for $1200.00. Thank goodness for craigslist...some good deals on there guys, just got to e diligent in finding them.

Sorry to have to say this to the Merc guys but the "ever popular side sweep mouldings aren't for sale.

There wasn't a key for the ignition, we tried drilling out the lock but it still won't turn, any suggestions on how we can start it without the ignition switch?

I've been beggin for some progression pics of chopping one of these. Anybody got any?

    Thanks Tudor

Between my brother and I, we now have (2) Sedanettes, (2) Mustangs, (1) 1940 Ford Sdean Deluxe and loving it!!!!

take a wire from + on the battery, to + on the coil, and short the solenoid on the starter with a screwdriver. that should do it

Got it here locally (Atlanta) but the car came out of California, great rust free body except te floor pans. Last time it was on the road was 1994, it is an older California typr Custom. Those are straight dual lakes type pipes. We are dying to here it run with those on and no mufflers.

Nope never hotwired anything, have started my Mustang by running a screwdriver from the battery post to the stater solenoid. I'm electrically challenged but can lay down some paint!!

Sometime between 1994 and now, someone had to be REALLY hard up for money, or really pissed off at the husband and sold it cheap. I bet its got an interesting history, though I don't know that I would try digging too hard. That's a killer deal.

Wow, I think that's the best $1200 car I ever saw. Congrats on the score and I gotta check Craigslist more often (although I never find a deal there, just whiners)

You have to add in a new pair of jeans from when he tore the pocket off the pair he had on getting the cash out.

Nice, that car has way too much work done on it not to have some sort of history.
one of the reasons I never throw keys away when I scrap out a car is that I can often come up one on the ring that will start a car, open the door or open a trunk when I need to. You need to get enough of the lock cylinder out so that you can unscrew the ring on the switch now that you drilled it.
Hardtopping that sedanette must have been a major project in it's self.

  25. it's no merc, it's a 1950 buick special (46s) with a 248 if it has the original motor. to me those are much more rare. if it's got the straight 8 it's got the gas pedal starter and positive ground.

My brother and thank you for the compliments. Here is the story we got...black guy here in Atlanta brought this car back from California because his brother got on drugs while building the car, they had worked on this car for years together and the brother from Atlanta couldn't stand the thought of this car being wrapped around a pole. He bought a trailer when he got to California and loaded it up and brought it back here. The guys back got hurt and he parked it in his carport, that's where it's been since 1994.

It needs the hardtop conversion finished, and glass. It's a 50 footer paint job...

Thanks for all the compliments, we can't wait to get started. Does it need a haircut???
