ya start it with the gas pedal after turning the key switch to run....just push down on the gas ...man

so if the ign is f. up loosen the swtch from the dash and locate the wires now jump em

if ya must this can be done under the hood as the starter relay switch is in the throttle linkage.

careful if its a auto trans or not in neutral

heck i made it home by holding a coin to the back side of the switch when the wife broke off a key in mine ... i had used a bottle opener hanging o the dash for a key for 6 years until she tried to start it with a house key!

    good score good luck

Love it. I scan C.L. all the time but I've never run across anything like that. WOW.

Good to see someone get it that will do it right.

    Beautiful car, nice score.

Just my opinion, but the roof to body proportions are right on the mark from the factory. I have seen chopped sedanettes that looked good (e.g. Sam Barris's car), but lots that missed the mark. Getting the trunk area resized to both fit and look proportional is tricky. I would just do the side window framing to match the sweep spear and be done with it.
    Enjoy the car!

$1,200 bucks! I think the dude that sold it to you was on the crack, not his brother!

I generally don't care for customs of that era, but that is one very nice looking ride. I don't think I'd even chop it, I'd just enjoy the heck out of it. Very, very nice; congrats!

More pics... I'll have to get some pics of the pin up girls stickers on the dash, they are straight out of the 50's... we spent alot of time today trying to get it running, guess it needs new points. Cleaned on the chrome for a while, got the truck open to find 59 Caddy tail light lenses and a bunch of other chrome goodies.

Ditto, I actually think doing that would hurt the car's looks.

To start it run a wire from the battery to the coil and step on the gas pedal. Buicks of that vintage have the starter hooked up to a switch on the carb and you floor the gas pedal to activate it after turning on the key which energizes the coil.

Thanks GreenMtnBoy. Hey I work in Marietta off of Delk Rd in an office park behind PepBoys.....down by the river (a little Chris Farley humor there)

Hope to see ya at some Ga HAMB outings this summer. We have two Buicks and a 40 Ford Sedan (slowly building).
