Pretty cool. I have the frame for one out here built out of Model T frame wheels with wide 5 wheels on it.
Wait a minute...1946 camper with 1948 plates? So it was only used 2 years? That's just not fair...hahaha...good score man...
Look at the lower edge of the galley hatch. Mine had an extruded aluminum strip with a channel in it. It appeared that a canvas tent or tarp could be inserted into the channel from the side for an extended canvas shade. I towed mine with a 305 powered 34 Ford P/U. I never knew it was back there. I had fun with mine. The only draw back was trying to put your jeans on in the humid weather without the ability to stand up. I put 6" of foam in mine and we slept like a baby once all the drunks p***ed out. My ice box was rusted out so we used a cooler. IIRC, mine had 4 1/2" bolt pattern and I picked up some 30s Mopar artillery wheels. Mine came with a home made trailer ***le so I have no idea what company made it.
Yes mine has the same channel, Also if you look in my photo gallery you can see a rim is that the same 30's mopor artillery wheel..
Man,now I have to hate you.I wish I could score something like this to tow behind my Caddy for shows, and here you go,a couple towns over, and score one for free.I'm in Yucaipa, see old stuff everywhere, but never come up like that.
Nice score, I've seen some of those at shows that were really done nice, better than bringing a folding chair and umbrella.
Yeah that is the same as mine the guy that had it before me cut holes in the caps so i cant read what it says...
