You could duplicate the "Up in Smoke" Van from the Cheech and Chong movie.

Good effort on the attempt to drive it home. I've made a few blind runs with and without trouble. Its good that there are car guys all over this country that will lend a hand or a parking spot.

  3. yeah it didn't turn out exactly how I planned but at least i got it home.. now all i need to get is a divorced transfer case and a set of dana 60's either that or keep the rear axle and just find a dana 60 or 12 bolt or what ever for the front.

I would like that C10 and the 327...;) That big old thing will be a hoot though...put a pole in it and offer dance classes...Hire Carmen Electra to give them....a few mirrors and disco ball... What a find....

  6. ha... sadly the 327 is not for sale.. however the 261 is as well as the body of the c10. I think i am going to keep the diff and rear suspension for a different progect. but I will post things for sale in the classifieds as I decide to unload them.

  7. yeah sometimes ebay redeems itself lol... anywho.. my buddy has a 60's ford with a straght axle and divorced transfer case which hes gonna sell me for $300 and then i just need to get that 65 with the 327 and i have all the parts I need.

  9. well... sadly the c10 is going to rust for another 25 years.. the owner doesn't want to sell it. grr... so back to the search for a small block...

  10. well woohoo!! happy update for anyone that wants to know. took a trip to my friends yard and he gave me the bell housing that I need. while there i saw a 3/4 ton dodge with a dana 60 up front. the diff in the ford is a 44.. which i can use for backup if the 60 falls through. now i just need to find a cheap running small block.

  11. Well here's another updatearoo for anyone who wants to know.. Cant afford the front dana 60 just yet.. I have found 3 options for a repower.. 1st up is a running 305, 2nd is a 30k mile rebuilt 250, and finally a 350 condition unknown.. I have a bell housing to fit all 3 so I am set there.. for now I am going to run the early sbc front mounts if I run the small block, and going to fab up a front mount for the 250 If I run that. I'll beef it up once the dana 60 is ready to go in. and I was looking at the front end today figuring how I am going to take the 261 out and a new body idea came to mind to make the face of this thing even creepier.. slope the upper windshield lines down to further make it look like a pissed off monster.. have a look :D

I think you should make the grille to match. Maybe even use the stuff they skin advertising cars in to do the eyes on the windows.

  13. Looks like a great deal!! Definatly be a ton of fun when done!!!

I'd go for the oil burning option simply because of the economy, with "Rodded" RV you are duty bound to travel .

So it's a 261? And runs ok? forgive me for not reading a;; 4 pages of posts. That 261 is a fine engine and will get it down the road ok. I'd look into installing a NV4500 5 speed from a newer chevy pickup.

  16. X2 on the 261! Full-pressure oiling, great torque, and would go brilliantly with that NV4500 5-speed!

  17. it did run great... pulled my camry just fine.. that is until the oil pressure dropped to 0 and trashed the engine. hence needing the new motor... but now its gonna get the v8 growl.. :D
