Very cool to see a big dollar car being used rather than 'preserved' by its over-cautious owner.
    To be encouraged and applauded.

    Did you build this car?

  13. That's the Jackie Howerton car that So-Cal did the finish work on that won the AMBR this year. That car is freakin' detailed to the max, and is mind-blowing if you get a chance to see it up close.

Kudos to the owner for driving it!!

Good to see it out and as someone mentioned earlier in the posts it was Jackie Howerton that started the build. I had a chance to meet Jackie Howerton in Indy several years back at the time I had never heard of him and he was commenting on how he liked my vehicle and we exchange some information and come to find out he was a friend of a friend of mine. Small world after all.

good to see the car again. Jackie used to fab up some oil tanks for the XR's that I was building years ago when he had a place in gasoline alley.

I was born under the rock where AMBR's were not worth looking at for the most part. last couple years things have changed.

Well worth the title. It's cool that he gets it out ide a little. I'll probably never see it on my streets. That looks like a "north of I-10 car".:D

Right on AGAIN, Ratfink! I remember when the "Candy Man" won it twice with the rankest 'T' bucket I ever saw. (he had a black '29 Hiboy at Andy's picnic in '76, paint all cracked and checked...should have redone that instead of that Eyesore T!)

Phil Cool's '32 Hiboy was a surprise AMBR winner, but after that, it was back to the norm.

I didn't go again until the 50th. Pretty good that year, many of the old ones were there...
