looka what I just got (40 ford)

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by waynesworld, May 31, 2008.

  1. You gotta lower that sucker at least! :)

That's one lucky 14-year-old. Make sure you clip him over the ear if he complains that it's 'just a four-door'. ;)

  2. That was my plan too but the urge to make it a bit more roadworthy has led it to evolve into a pretty neat old car.... while still retaining the pretty much stock drivetrain.

That '40 will make a killer first ride. I'll be anxious to see it two years from now. ;)

  3. What part of my statement is untrue or wrong. I am not trying to start a shitstorm here just stating a really simple fact from what he posted. I think it's great that he is doing a father/son project. Just because its an old car that "could" be something of interest here on the board doesn't make it so. Restorations have their own place somewhere I'm sure but what I have been able to gather from the few years I have watched this board they are not here. The folks that think I'm a killjoy would probably be afraid to chop anything that needed it thinking it would only be original once and a hotrod should stay stock height. Streetrodders at heart. Hotrodders not! There is a difference. Pick up a Hop Up magazine. Learn something. I did.

I have to say theres nothing wrong with him posting it . Hes passing on this car to his son and this is how the hobby will be passed along and be kept alive father to son . nothing more traditional then that .

  7. So will a SBF ...

  8. With that thought I guess I spent my $50 for my Alliance Membership, which you don't have, for nothing. My '56 Victoria, other than the wheels is stock as a rock .. I don't suppose I belong here either .. :(

Its replies like curbspeed made that make me want to quit posting on this site. Many people on this site seem to take great pride in non conforming with the mainstream yet want to shoebox (not a referance to a car) everyone here into their image. If anyone does not agree with me thats o.k. they can be wrong.
