ive been a follower of hot rod culture since i was little, though ive never really had the chance to work on one. im thinking about starting a project car and id like some help in deciding what to even look for and how.
any sugestions would help. id like something relatively simple, and cheap. because this will be a learning expeiriance. im an auto tech student at BCC. and been working on anything with wheels my whole life. so if i don't allready know how to do it, ill figure it out.. i want a rod of my own instead of drooling over other guys at car shows. help me out?

I would say pick something that there is a lot of. That way parts are easy to find and there will be a LOT of people with similar cars to give advice.

I agree with Kerry67, something that's easy to find parts for, maybe a 47-53 Chev truck, or a 51-56 Ford? They seem pretty common where I live and you can buy parts for them out of an LMC truck catalog. But I like trucks and tend to pay more attention to them. Someone on here is bound to have better judgement than myself.

    Just my $.02

VW's and 60's Chevy trucks. Easy to work on.. can't throw a stick without hitting one... and a good basis for all future car knowledge.

Otherwise find something you like and just go for it. Anything you don't know you can learn hear. And anything you need you will enjoy the hunt.
