A friend of mine got a pair for his '32 Highboy, he said he got them from Coker. I see they aren't listed on their web site--did you call them? Another friend said they had them in Louisville at the NSRA Nats.

  2. The 31.50x15 BFG Light Truck tires I originally ran on the 32 had 7 ply sidewalls and 3 ply treads.
I ran the pressures at 16# most times.

When I went to BFG's 285/70Rx15 for auto's the ride was considerably imroved.
That due to 3 ply sidewalls and 1 ply tread.
I run 20# pressure on these.

In a few weeks I plan to stick the 3.00 diff in replacing the 3.70 so I can afford to go down a bit in tire diameter without hurting overall gearing too much.

Not sure what size I'll go to, but the BFG 255/50Rx15 is a touch over 2" shorter and it looks like tread width will be about the same.
It'll take a bit of rake out of the car's stance and I think it will look ok.

    Go to Tire Rack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=BFGoodrich&model=Radial+T%2FA&tirePageLocQty

The address above should take you right to the specs page.

I recently replaced the rears on my '41 pickup. Went to P265/75R15 Hankooks. Reasonably priced, available in a couple of days from Discount Tire. Not quite as wide as the P285/70R15, but pretty beefy (almost 8 inch tread), and within a fraction of the same height. No noticeable difference in ride, noise, (street) traction, etc. No cause to test them for serious, getting down the strip traction.

I contacted Coker Tire just last month about a pair. I was told they carry them and they were $159.95, I think. Kind of salty, but, I still believe thats the coolest rear tire you could run on a muscle car, late model pickup, etc...

I found Firestone 265/75 X 15 recently at a local tire store. Mounted on my '53 F-100, I measure 29.75 tall. Keep in mind everybody, the change in aspect ratio from 70 to 75 makes up for some of the height loss going from a 285 to a 265.

    from so . cal.

I bought two of these tires from Coker last year . They look the same as the BFG 's I bought eight years ago except the section width is a bit wider by about an inch . They're mounted on some 10" Eric Vaughn wheels .
