A few years ago a fellow on here built some absolutely beautiful '36 style rear end brackets. The fabrication was just off the chain. Does anybody remember this thread or have a link? I remember he polished everything after they were done,
Very close but not exactly. 117 Harv has superhuman polishing skills. The name sounded so familiar I went back and looked to see if it was him but nothing there. The one I'm looking for had the tails fabricated from a combination of 3/8" plate and 1/8" stock. After assembly and welding they were massaged to perfection and the recessed areas hit with a scaler to make them undetectable from castings. The benefit is you can play with dimensions a bit and the fabbed ones are most certainly quite a bit stronger. The technique of
