Does anyone have suggestions on where to get a fuel tank for my '54 Ford F-100 and have it shipped to Kingston, Ontario? Here's what I've found so far, before any shipping charge is added.

Old Car Centre in British Columbia: $290
Early Ford V8 Sales in Upstate NY: $275
eBay sellers in the U.S.: $225
LMC Truck: $179+$20 oversized part surcharge

Anyone know of a better deal, or something closer to home where I could pick it up myself and save on shipping?

Has anybody used fuel tanks from "Tanks Inc." in Monticello, Iowa? I can get a tank for my truck for $175 from them and I want to know if anyone has had good or bad experiences with them.

Here's the link to what I'm interested in getting: http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm?ptype=product&product_id=131&prd131.htm

Also, I'm looking for someone near Watertown, New York (or Syracuse) who would be willing to let me have the tank shipped to them and I would pick it up when it gets there.

I seen a couple guys running mustang gas tanks between the rails near the rear bumper. Just a thought... one guy was using a 70 mustang tank back there.

I'm a welder and tryed for a week to fix my 54 gas tank. Finley gave up and bought one from mid fifty's f-100. I think it was around $350. Well worth it.

So what do you think of the one Tanks Inc. is selling for $175? Click the link I gave in my post above and let me know if you think I should stay away from it. The price difference is huge, so either it's a good deal or a bad tank. Thanks!

Isn't Tanks Inc right next to Yogi's in Monticello? Not sure if Yogi's has anything to do with Tanks Inc or if they are just in the same industrial complex.

Same address and same fax number, but different phone numbers and separate websites.

I have a Tank's poly tank and it bolts right in. being under everything it does not show and is more puncture resistant than a steel tank. I bought mine from mid 50's Ford.

    It's a good deal.

I bought and installed one of their fuel tanks on my '55 F100 back in '97 and it's been trouble-free. No more rust and scale clogging up filters and bowls EVER. Trouble-free install and I haven't thought twice about it since.

This or the 65-70 Mustang, Cougar Tanks really are the best way to go. Cheap and easy to install in the rails behind the rear axle. Hit me up if you need more info. I have a 53 F100 I am putting a Mustang tank into.
