Are you still looking for a mentor in Southern California? I might have a lead but I must know if your search is over or not.

Please call Mike Johnson in Upland at 909-988-9133. He has a transmission shop and your profile matches what Mike is looking for. Mike is a very cool dude who races Late Model stocks at Irwindale Speedway and now his son is racing. Mike's transmission shop is into all sorts of street cars, vintage. modern, and everything in between. Mike wants to talk to you by phone. Good luck.

Wow this is a very good idea. I'm just learned about this early Ford's. I've really learned a lot from this sight and a couple books now but nothing better than hands on for sure.

Echo’s a cool cat. I’ve talked to him many times. Like others said... kind of take the good information and apply it; and forget the stuff that’s poor practice or unsafe. That Plymouth is pretty rough. I think a tree fell on it and the roof and rear quarters smashed up.

Good Luck with your venture. I wish I could find some one to help, and to teach what little I know.

I'm sure at your age you have learned enough I would be happy with just the stuff you forgot.
