    Hi everyone,

I have ACTUAL ADD and I have a problem. I have an image of a photo from a rodders journal stuck in my head and I cant seem to find the issue.

The image I am looking for is a back yard in southern california.

All I remember is that the photo was taken from the roof of the house and it looked down at the small backyard and garage that was open. I believe the garage door was open and it was night time.

I am certain this was in an issue sometime from 2009 because that is when I started reading rodders journal.

If someone knows what i am talking about and can direct me to the issue of rodders journal I would be greatly in your debt. As I said, i am not making this up I have severe add and when things like this get stuck in my mind I cannot concentrate on anything else.

I know it is a weird request but any help is appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi 37HOTROD

Thankyou for your quick response but I do not think that is it.

I remember there being 2 cars, the photo was taken from quite high up and I remember there being a caged wire fence on the left of the garage.

The garage was not as crammed as the one pictured above, I think it was a functional hot rod garage setup.

I found a forum entry where someone referred to Pat Ganahl standing on a roof for a photo shoot so he may have written the piece.

Again I am sorry for this weird search but it has got the better of me and I HAVE TO FIND IT even if I start buying every issue lol

    Cheers in advance

I think the one you are talking about was in the article on Early Times, and had a Triumph with a chrome tank in the photo? I have it, but its too big for my scanner. I will dig it out, maybe I can take a photo of it.

The pic that comes to mind is the shot of the back yard of the guy who owns the Hirohita Merc. There was a roadster pickup in the pic and some other car.?????

It was the story on a Chevy fleet line lowrider, there is a 55 Nomad and a 53 or 54 wagon in the garage, with a Harley in the driveway , I will check my collection
and get you the issue no.

    Hi everyone,
Thankyou for having the patience to help me with my disorder. The only other pieces of information I can add are that is was definately a recent photo like within the last 10 years and that the photo was taken from the roof of a house.

    any help is appreciated.

After thinking about it I am 100% certain rice and beans is correct! Now if only we had the issue number!

Could it be the story about Robert house? Number 38?

C'mon guys, how long can it take to get this request sorted??? There's a maximum of 71 issues to thumb through and the search has already been narrowed down some. So a retired guy possibly with plenty of time on his hands could get comfortable with a suitable beverage and a pile of books and get going. Probably take years ha ha! But what a lovely search! I really want to help!

Does anyone think Rodders Journal or Steve ****an would allow me a copy of the image to print and hang on my wall? This photo means alot to me now! If I could summarise myself in a photo this would have to be it!

As a side note I have always wondered why TRJ does not have an annotated index, at least on line. I often find myself wondering which issue something was in. My shelf of TRJ's is nearly 3 feet long, too much to look through every issue to find one car.

If it just happened to be a centerfold, take it out and hang 'er up. Buy an extra copy so you won't go nuts.

Just google it. It took me two minutes to find the picture in question once the fleetline was mentioned. I just googled fleetline Rodders Journal and it brought up every issue that had a feature on fleetlines. Second issue I checked was the right one.
