If you want to build a traditional 50's rod, you should know the 19" wires were the first thing the guys threw away. Read some old magazines and you will see.

  5. You know what they say: "Google is your friend"! I was looking for wheel adapters to fit my '29 Chevy, typed in "wheel adapters" and found lots of sites. I even found 6-lug to 5-lug adapters!

    Good luck!

Do a search in the forsale parts section . There are some guys selling well adapter all the time on there .
Are you really sure you want to go that route with those terrible 19" wire wheels ? Ever try to get a bicycle wire wheel to run true ? That should answer your question about not wanting to use 19" car spoke wheels !

Most wheel adapters are 7" in diameter. That's too small for early ford wire wheels. And don't forget the inner support rings. I had a pair made that are 8" diameter, from wheeladapters.com. They weren't cheap.

Go to ebay.. Should be able to get 1 1/4" wide in the bolt pattern you want for about $75.. I use them on S10 rear ends and run 16"x4 1/2" steelies on my model A coupes, perfect for fendered A's.. Never a problem if they are installed correctly........

How does your Model A have a Mustang bolt pattern? Disc brakes? Those wires should fit stock hubs/drums.

I have never looked at the 19" wires. I have made the support rings for the 18-16" wires when used on the 40-48 drums. I know that the inner hub lip of those wires sticks out and and that makes a really thick adapter needed for for clearance. A 1" wide adapter/spacer will work on a 8" Maverick rear. Not on a 9" because the drums are bigger. The fronts are really the problem if you want to use late drums or disks. The tires really stick out and it looks like fido's ass.
You really need to mock it up to see how it all will look and what adapter thickness you need.
