My buddy Noel thinks he has one last project left in him. He is looking to build a 32 roadster with a flathead with Ardun heads. He has been collecting Ardun parts but is looking for a source for more parts and for an Ardun guru that he can call that can answer some questions. And yes, he knows the cost of building a 32 roadster and the cost of building an Ardun flathead and neither one scares him. Noel is the real deal. He still has his flathead powered 32 5-window that he built as his high school industrial arts project in 1959. The coupe is in a four 4 page spread in the November 1960 issue of Rod & Custom Magazine (Corn Fed Coupe starting on page 26). Noel also drove nitro dragsters competing against Garlits, Karamesines, Hoover, etc. in the 1960s.
There is no one better than contacting Ronnieroadster here on the HAMB. Ron knows more about Arduns than anyone on the planet. Ron SanGiovanni in Wallingford CT.
Ronnieroadster is for sure the real deal. Id also add you could call Ardun Industries. I talked to them earlier this year. They'll sell you a whole kit or build an engine. Nice dude. His real job is foundry work. The Ardun kit is around 15k and a long block is like 28k Do They sell just pieces to complete your original setup? That I dont know. They also sell their own supercharger
Ardun Industries is Don Ferguson Jr. in Wilmington Ca. His family has been setting Bonneville and Dry lakes records since the 50’s with flatheads, Arduns, and in the 80’s added GMCs stock heads and 12 ports. They have all the molds. They have beautiful castings for injection also.
Considering I have experience with Arduns not only racing but also actually driving them cross country and back a few times. And also as my daily driver I would be happy to help Noel in any way possible. Ronnieroadster
Thanks Ron! I will have Noel contact you. This is the flatty powered 32 coupe built in 1959 as his high school industrial arts project. He still owns and drives the 32 and it is still 95% as he built it in 1959.
Don Ferguson, Ronnie Roadster & Luke Balough have been very helpful before and after my original Ardun build. Still running well. Nowhere near Don , Ron’s or Lukes’s expertise but can be a resource if needed. View attachment 5379718 View attachment 5379719
Yep, early heads that are sequentially numbered 167 & 168. Had to make water outlets because originals interfere with the distributor on 8ba blocks. However, they work well. If doing over and knew what I learned afterwards, I would modify the the heads to allow use of center outlets.
In any event, it wasn’t done. Did these in stainless and even kept the heater connection. Took a master welder to accomplish this. Minimum distortion, no leaks, Waterjet cutting.
Yes, I did not have any supports and Luke Belough in Vancouver, BC made them and did some rocker modifications
