Doing some preventative maintenance on this car for a friend. It was purchased from the Dennis Carpenter collection several years ago with paperwork. Rumor has it was built by Carpenter and friends prior to his business ventures. Was hoping someone out there can shed some light on the car's history. It is running a 59A block, has been converted to 12 volt and has 40's juice brakes. Let me know.

    Is Dennis Carpenter still living?

I'd call the store and see what you can find out.

Late to the party on this one, you beat me to it. I wanted to do that just reading the title. Good looking car though.

He passed away in 2020, although I think the company is still owned by his family.

(not really relevant to the discussion but I met him once, and was surprised to find out he grew up in a little town in SE Minnesota only about 15 miles from where I grew up. Small world. :))
