Bought a used set of sbc headers for $25, cut the flanges off, re-welded y-block flanges and used a few various bends to finish off. Turned out okay for a novice.

Yeah, the one pictured above, only painted green.

  3. Ya, I recognized the Imperial valve covers on it. I understand he made a 2 car deal with Dale Mathews and both were gone in a matter of days.

Hey Pist-n-Broke.... believe it or not still on this build. My engine guy scratched the headers on dyno day so he paid to have them re-coated. Did them in polish this time. I think they came out great....thanks again for nudging me

  6. All good things take time, sometimes more than we like. Looking at the photo above I'll assume everything Headlight to Taillight is going to be new. Being you have been Dyno tuned first start up should go smooth. I've learned with new gauges and a lot of unknown at the start time to have a known to be accurate temp gauge in hand or in the system. Todays new gauges both Oil and Temp can be a long way from correct readings. This will often lead to unnecessary work and fussing.

Yah....tell me about it! The trans is rebuilt and rear gone over with new bearings and seals. Anything else? I will be all gauged up for the first start....first start in the frame that is. Nervous as hell and hope my builder did everything right on this HEMI. I already see that the top row valve cover bolts are supposed to be sealed studs. I hope there's no other issues like that. I'm going to put an air sqeeze on the coolant system before filling and let it sit overnight to make sure I have no leak / leak down issues. I'm all ears if you have anything else. Did get your PM Thanks Need more info on that
