I'm hunting down parts again and could use a little help. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the brake return springs for a 37 Ford Big Truck (model 79) with mechanical brakes? I tried a set of car springs but the hooks were too short and interfered with the shoes.

The 1 ton was the same front axle and back plate as car/pickup just different hubs. But the rear like you probably have was Timken split in the center and all was different. Wheel seals were impossable to find with dimensions, Dick Spadaro http://www.dickspadaro.com/ saved the day, and probably can help you. I know I have used stuff around but could only identify with pics/dimensions

This truck is 2-ton with a full floating rear axle. the front and rear brakes are identical except for the emergency brake hardware on the rear. Here are some pics of the springs.
