I've searched for a couple hours now and can't find it. It's not Brian's "Build an early hotrod frame" I saw a thread a long time ago where someone had plans/measurements for a square frame with rear kick-up. They basically left the rails long until they got the cab and rear suspension mocked up, then decided where the engine was going, then front suspension and lastly cut the front off the rails. Where the heck was that thread?
intech archive http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8 Build your own 32 frame rails http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=671187&highlight=frame there are probally others
I've seen a bunch of 32 Ford style frame builds. I don't know how to describe this particular build except it's not tappered, just either 2x3 or 2x4 rear kick-up squared frame-rails and I think he ended up with suicide front end on 4" pipe. I guess I'm looking more for frame width dimensions. I know there's not one right width, but just trying to get a good starting point. I like the way it was built in the thread I was looking for because he started with two 24' sticks, built the kick up first, left the frame rails long, installed rear suspension, placed cab on the frame, then kinda decided where the engine would go, then cut the front off the rails to make it work. I'm gonna be starting on this sometime this spring....
