My 54 Chevy Chrome Bumpers have rusted areas and areas that appear to be stains. Please recommend a method or a product to clean and then preserve<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Clean off rust with copper scrubbing pads and Pledge. Finish with your favorite chrome polish, Flitz or Solvol Autosol.

Rust spots can be carefully sanded and touched in with silver Rustoleum paint.

Not as good as new chrome but you can make an old bumper very presentable with a little work.
