I know this is a long shot but I am looking for information on a 1959 impala that was drag/street raced in the so cal area. I bought the car from the original owners widow and have just completed the restoration. I would really like to know some history on the car if anyone remembers it. The car was originally purchased from Bob Soreson Chevrolet in Whittier, CA by a man named Errol K. I believe it was a 348 tri power 4 speed car. It was originally painted black with red interior then was painted white at some point. When I bought the car it had a 427 tri-power corvette engine and a Buick switch pitch th400 in it. A have also heard that it may have been a record holder at Pomona for a number of years. If anyone knows of the car let me know! I almost didn't open the tread but it's cool as hell to be huntingit. down the history of a car you are in the middle of rebuilding that may actually have some interesting history behind it.

I sure hope you put that car back black with the red stripe. That combo spun my wheels on those when I was young and there always seemed to be a mean black 59 Impala lurking around in those days.
