Late addition.. the English Ford Cortina had some tri-bar round tail lights that are very similar to the Mercury design and are fairly large. Some years were all red, others had the amber lens for signals. This light was also popular with aftermarket kit cars and performance sports cars in England, such as Lolas (pre Ford GT for example), TVR / Griffith, etc.

But the PO still put them in the wrong place . the old LEDs belong on a trailer. LEDs are excellent when they resemble an original early light.
