LOOKING FOR NORTH DAKOTA HAMBERs...Found what I needed

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by exwestracer, Nov 24, 2011.

  1. There was a thread on here a while back about losing jobs, and a HAMBer from North Dakota posted about the great jobs and poor housing situation there. I didn't catch his username at the time.

If you are he, or knows who it was, please PM me.

Pardon the shouting, but it's fairly important. Thanks.

(and I did search for the thread every way I could think of...)

I remember reading the thread, but I don't remember who wrote it, and a quick search turned up nothing for me. It is very interesting living up here and seeing what is going on out in the Bakken Formation. I know a number of folks who have gone out to the western part of the state to take one of the many available jobs, but as you eluded to, the housing situation is dire. Anyways, this will give your request a bump.

    Good Luck.

I live next door in Minnesota but, from what I hear, they say don't show up unless you have a place to stay.

    take care

I pulled my camper through the area in September an even the camp grounds were pretty full. I work in oil and gas and the larger companies tend to set up camps to ensure they have housing for their employees. Finding a job before you go may garantee you housing. As others have said good luck.

  6. Getting closer to the info I need. Quick bump for the western states post-turkey dinner crowd.

  7. One more for the hangover bunch.

If it's the oil field jobs that you're curious about, I can help you with the info=pm me with your questions. It's very similar to the Pennsylvania situation- lot's of jobs, very little housing, and not many qualified job applicants.
