I know there must be a bazillion pics on the net and HAMB, I've searched but can't find a good angle of what I looking for. I'd like to see any small block Chevy's mounted in a 29 ford with a factory frame/hood distance that show the factory firewall/gas tank clearance and/or harmonic balancer to factory front cross-member/radiator position. i'm still considering engine choice for my build, thanks Gregg
Here's some, all have hoods, firewalls were recess about 3" and most importantly, all have mechanical fans and distributors could be taken out with motor as is.... Click pic for larger image
scrap metal; thanks very much.... looks like the "gas tank" is modified in all pictures, i'm thinking i'd like to my tudor factory gas tank (keep tudor rear seat) looks like the last one might have long style pump.... any others have pics?
Actually the original tank sits about 3" behind the outside part of the firewall.. This coupe I had used the original tank.. There was enough room to still recess the firewall about 3" at tank height.. It can be done if that is your intention... click the pic for larger image
