google the raceway. It will give you a start. There are some sites with names to pursue such as Phil Elliot.
Ace, Search for Lost Drag Strips thread, then search that thread for Puyallup. I found 3 postings - 105, 194, 251. Better yet, read the whole thread. I remembered something about the track, so found the thread, then searched. You may want to search the whole forum for Puyallup. There may be a mention in Great Oregon Racers thread and may be one like it for WA memories. Keep us posted.
Thanks guys, I'm trying to find pictures for my dad. He has been saving basically everything he can find and putting it on this page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Puyallup-Dragway/320127954783302?ref=hl
First drag strip I ever went to, and was about run over by some guy in a Ford pick up truck; my friend pulled me out of the way so Jerry Ruth could go by. Never thought much of the King because of that, he was going way too fast in the pits. The Facebook page is pretty cool. I could have been there when Wild Bill Schrewsberry and the L.A. Dart were there. I also remember the semi-truck/trailer drags at one event, and when the trucks came down the return road, they were throwing T-shirts from the top of the trailers. This is great because I have a buddy that raced a 57 Ford in the 60's and we were just talking and he was wishing he had some pics of his car racing. He asked because he found some old reports he won there.
