I have been scouring Craigslist and the HAMB Cl***ifieds. I have found a couple close but they are rough. I am wondering what I should expect to pay,
As I have seen them from $200-2000.
I am ok with some rust repair. Ideally I would like a T bucket/RPU/T Truck/similar.

I am open to styles, I just want to build something from this era in the 40-50s style. I would consider fibergl*** if I could not find anything in my range in steel.

If your price range is $200-$2000, spend $2000 on the best body you can find. You'll be time & $$$ ahead in the long run.

In Tulsa, I'd guess you can find a GOOD T body within a day's drive.

I guess I should have said my price range, it is not $2000, I would say my max price is $600 MAX. I understand that might be something rough, but this is going to be a father/son project, ( My son is 8mos old) so their will be plenty of time to work on it.

I am considering a T-Touring body about an hour away, its pretty rough, but price might be right.

  5. FWIW, we paid a little over $2000 for this about 2 years ago. Bought it from a HAMBer. The picture doesn't do it justice. We were VERY pleased with the condition.:D

Budget the whole build, then work out what percentage of it to spend on the body, a good rule of thumb is 1/4. ie..a twenty thousand dollar build ..use a $5000 body, but get the absolute best $5000 body you can.

If you think you can build a whole hotrod for 2,400...Id genuinely like to know how.

Here are pictures of the Touring I am thinking about, I like the option of Touring or converting into a Bucket. It would need alot of work to use the Touring body.

The cowl is supposed to be perfect, I will look into the other parts if I just want to use them, where do you recommend looking for panels? Speedway?

Wow, that looks really THIN. Decent cowl & maybe the p***enger front door?

Speedway has little in the way of steel body parts. Check here for T sheetmetal: http://modelthaven.com/

  13. If your budget is that low, just buy a fibergl*** body tub and start there. Or save your pennies if you really want steel.

Be patient and keep your eyes open. I bought my 26/27 Roadster (more pics in my profile) with all the pieces and parts to ***emble it for around 2k. I sold off everything I didn't want and I'm near fully making everything back.

    They're still out there.

Also, I've noticed quite a few REALLY good deals on 28-31 coupe and roadster bodies recently in the HAMB cl***ifieds.

I will start a thread at some point to post pictures, plan is to grab some more parts, want to get it rolling sooner than later. Hoping to have a frame built in the next couple months.
