my father had a picture in his drawer from the early 70's of a Model A roadster that was Root beer brown with orangeish steel wheels and beauty rings and hubcaps...it was a spread in a magazine so that car had to be somewhat well known...does this ring a bell for anyone? I know he loved the color combo and it would be a great looking car today. Thanks
My buddy **** bought a '32 Ford coupe from MN years ago. Turns out it had magazine coverage as best Deuce at Merc and Deuce Reunion in the 70s, was root beer. Lots of positive comments on the color when we drove it to Columbus in the late 80s. Street Rodder coverage from 70s, which we found after he bought it, said it was a 50/50 silver and gold basecoat. Coupe had jag suspension both ends. So you are right, root beer is a great color. **** never should have sold that car!
Sounds like Larry Braga's ultra low Model A roadster. Sorry I don't have a photo handy, maybe someone has one they can post. Mick
Here's a couple pics of Larry's roadster i stole from another thread. See if this is the car you were thinking of. Mick
