Awesome, I'm not sure what caps interchange on them. Could run some 40's mopar center caps and really mess with the people that don't know any better ;)

Can you post a photo of the wheels? Not all mopars were so similar in the 40's and I'm having a hard time finding photos of the different wheels.

However the ones I do see have the center cap nubs on the inside so if the hole is the right size you could also run the 40-48 ford/ Mercury/Lincoln caps

Not sure i can afford bias ply tires right now what would be a good size front and rear tire for those 4 inch wide wheels and 16 size rims .Thank you

browsing Coker Firestone bias plies seem to be the same price if not cheaper than the Walmart grade radials of a same size.

That being said 750/16 in back 500/16 in from are my favorite set up.

Firestone bias plies zig zag tread pattern
    $194 for each 750 rear tire and $157 for a 525 or 550 front.

Tires get spends pretty fast, don't know that you'll find a similar height/width for less

~ if your real cheap on cash keep the rears that are on it for now and buy the little vw radials mentioned previously for just the front. That will get you buy the cheapest. Though keep in mind your new wheels will probably need to run a tube to keep air even with a radial tire

~ just don't mix radials and bias plie

The car really needs the right tire. Used ones are around occasionally. Don't cheap out and buy radials for an open wheeled car, that's what you have on there now and it just doesn't look right. Not to mention, modern radial sizes just won't fit right on a 16x4 wheel.
