Picked up a fairly nice 39 coupe vert a month ago.... The gentlemen (previous owner) owned it for 50+ years... He pulled the motor out to fix the clutch 12 years ago before he pasted away.. has been sitting ever since There's a sticker on inside door jam from a service station from 1968...so the respray (paint) has been on the car since then. Car is mostly stock less the motor...dual Fenton intake with 97's. Aluminum Fenton heads and a splash of chrome goodies... The Fenton heads had a crack on one side and were removed and stock ones reinstalled. (picked those up also)... Not much rust, but has a little body damage from years gone by. I'm going to leave it the way I found it... fix the heads reinstall the motor and rock it!! So I was hoping to find a picture or two of a mild hot-rod-ed 39-40 2 door convertible....
I think I'm in love (....and not with your avatar)! 39 Deluxes are the most beautiful body style ever. Please don't hot rod this car. Consider a mild traditional 40s custom treatment with some lowering, skirts, etc. Most important of all bring it out to the GROUNDHOG GALA in Sanford on February 4! I'd love to see it - hope you get it on the road by then. http://www.giddyupgomusic.com/groundhog/index.html
